Mark has over 30 years experience in digital communications including Web, interactive media, print and digital imaging technology. Mark was the co-founder of ImageSet, Inc., Maine’s largest digital communications design agency and a pioneer in digital publishing and graphic design. Mark is currently a stakeholder in VONT, a digital marketing agency, in Westbrook, Maine. Mark leads VONT's search engine optimization (SEO) practice. Mark graduated Phi Beta Kappa, summa cum laude with highest honors in 1984, from the University of Maine with a BA in Political Science and a Minor in Philosophy. He was a National Dean's List Scholar in 1980 and 1981 and is an accredited member of the Collegiate National Honor Society from 1982-1984. He attended the University of Maine School of Law before taking a leave of absence to form ImageSet in 1987 with Ted Darling. Mark is versed in a number of digital information technologies including web design and development, digital video, electronic design and digital imaging technologies as well as internet marketing tactics such as blogs, web properties, and other smart media such as AI chatbots for content, image and video enhancement. One of his primary tasks at VONT is to find the successful application of these new information platforms in marketing and then teach VONT's marketers how to use them to create marketing campaigns more efficiently, creatively and cost effectively. At Vont, Mark focuses on SEO and CRO marketing tactics and is a certified professional search engine specialist, leading Vont’s efforts in search engine marketing and SEO. He is an Adobe Expert and certified trainer for many Adobe creative software products as well as an accredited Web CEO search engine optimization specialist. He is engaged with all of Vont’s SEO clients Mark also has an extensive background in the Hospitality Industry, having owned the Ledges By The Bay, a boutique oceanfront hotel property, in Rockport Maine for 40 years. He solfthe property in 2016 but remains well-versed in Maine's Tourism industry and has written a number of Maine travel-related articles for various blogs and publications over the years. Mark also conceptualized and created the TakeMe2 travel guides platform, an online travel guide initiative designed to promote tourism in Maine, New England and in other key states – by providing in depth, unbiased information to potential tourists and travel consumers.
