Magical place to stay with the views of the water from one's own screened in porch.... Definitely recommend a room on top floor. We were on the south end and it was quiet. Great bed and nice to have a TV in the room as well.

We stayed four nights at the Island View Inn in August. We'd never been as far up the Maine coast before and the location was just right: between Rockland and Camden. The inn was lovely. Our room was quite large, exceptionally clean, with a comfortable king bed and a delightful porch overlooking the water. Binoculars are provided for a closer look. Two chairs and a small glass table allowed for a perfect breakfast (while the inn does provide very good coffee and tea, we did have to venture out for food: we discovered a bagel place just a few minutes drive away that was very convenient) and wine glasses, a corkscrew, and ice bucket meant leisurely drinks before and after dinner. The inn has an infinity pool that's heated, with comfortable chaise lounges. The front desk provides pool towels. And if you want to immerse yourself, take a walk down to the Adirondack chairs by water's edge and soak in the scenery. The area has wonderful restaurants to choose from, and Rockland's Farnsworth Museum has beautiful Andrew Wyeth watercolors. We took a short trip up to Belfast one day and another down to Port Clyde. Island View Inn was a wonderful base for our trip, and a wonderful place to come back to when we wanted to just relax.

Great Stay! Looking for a home base in the Rockport area? Well situated between Rockland and Camden...under 10 minutes either way. Direct waterfront with outstanding view of bay. Property extends down the hill to bayfront seating areas. Really wonderful staff. Nicely appointed, spacious rooms....ours had a unique private indoor hallway that connected our two rooms. Immaculately clean. Very nice infinity pool. No dining offered but close to LOTS of amazing restaurants. Morning coffee/tea served. We were guests for a week and would stay there again. (Sister hotel, Strawberry Hill, next door is open year-round.)
